The gypsy is AWESOME! I bought mine 2 months ago and cannot put it down. They just added a new feature that is so helpful. you can click on an image and then remove certain pieces of it to make a different color. Some of the old cartridges don’t have layering like the new carts, so you can make your own layering with this new feature. I LOVE IT!

  2. Penny says:

I purchased my gypsy in November and have installed all of my cartridges on it until recently, when I cannot even get it turned on completely and then I have to just leave it to get it to turn off. I am totally lost, what do I do?

  3. Michelle Ochoa says:

I have it ,and love it, when you travel it is great to have so easy to use, just one problem , if you share youre cartridges with another person you can only link to one gsypy , read the instruntions first, always do the update, so it can work the best, i was the first to have it in my group, now i take it every where i go, sometimes even to bed..ha ha ..

  4. Jocelyn Orieux says:

I bought my gypsy about 4 months ago and my Cricut E has never seen so much use! I was just using my E for a few tittles here and there. Then I bought my gypsy and took my scrapping with my cricut to a whole other level.
I now use my gypsy all of the time and my scrapbooking and card making are amazing. I love how and I can do a multi layer image in one cut so easily and cut different words and tittles welded together so I don’t have to stick each individual letter down anymore.
Life has become a cakewalk since I got my gypsy!

  5. joyce wagner says:

how do I sign up for the drawing. Whenever I sign up it says you are already subscribed to this list. Can’t win that way. What am I doing wrong

  6. Dianna says:

I tried to watch and listen to the demonstration using the link you suggested, but the video kept cutting in and out. I was very disappointed, as I wanted to see just how the Gypsy works. Can you suggest another way for me to view the demonstration?

  7. Jennifer says:

Oh my gosh, I just seen the video demonstration & I want it !! It’s just too cool :)

  8. Kate says:

I’ve had my Gypsy for a while now and love it. Once I download a cartridge to it, it’s all I use. I love the idea of being able to cut items from various cartridges all at the same time. I also love the search function…find anything with just a couple of taps.

I’m taking my Expression to a crop this weekend and I’ll be taking the Gypsy too…no need to take all the cartridges as they are already loaded on the Gypsy.

  9. Craftlove says:

Got my Gypsy when They first came out and use it for simple and complex projects. I take it when I travel in case I have ideas or just want to play. Them cut later.h favorite project has been a complete Nativity scene with all people and animals.

  10. Mary Branaghan says:

I need a video. I have no way of knowing what hooks up to what and where. I have a black box that lites up. I am wanting more. I would also love a convention somewhere I can go to learn more about it once i get it hooked up. Please advise. Mary

  11. Mary Branaghan says:

Send help!!! I need a fits into b. c into d. Or something. I am scared to mess up my cartriges. Does it hook up directly to to the Machine or do you hook up the cartriage to the cord. It is one of the most frustrating things I ever bought. And I paid good money for the agrivation.

  12. Lynn says:

I love the gypsy. I don’t even use cartridges at home anymore. It makes things go so fast.. I love it!!!!!!!!!! Some of the responses have indicated that they had problems. sells a video called gypsy A-Z. It is three hours long and explains absolutely everything. It will address any and all questions that you have. I have to be honest. before I watched that video, I didn’t use the gypsy half as much as I do now. Buy the Dvd and enjoy your gypsy to the fullest.!!!

  13. tonya says:

I love my Gypsy had it since last year! The update of layering is fantastic since I have always used the layering with my cartridges. I must say though I have had only one problem and that was recently at a retreat. I had done an update and after cutting it froze up. I didn’t read anything about a reset button but just by messing around I found it. On the back there is a small pin hole find a pin and press in it will reset and worked just fine. It is great to be able to organize your cuts and save the files for later. It is also fantastic for those of us who travel to scrap retreats and not having to pack all those cartridges. Since I have it I share all my cartridges with my scrappin buddy she keeps all the cartridges we buy and she lets me load all of hers on my gypsy since she will not get one.

  14. Cheri says:

I dont even use my cartridges. I printed out all my cartridges from the Cricut website and put them in a binder. So all I have now is Gypsy and Binder. I go to crops and this is alot easier

  15. Danielle says:

I have had my Gypsy for about six weeks. I have made some of the cutest things with it. I think it allows me to be more creative with my scrapbooking than going through each cartridge book and then choosing a design. I also love that I can weld anything to anything and cut from multiple cartridges at the same time. LOVE IT! Don’t know how I lived without it.

  16. jeanne says:

somehow that still just isn’t in my budget :(

  17. Brittany says:

I’m dying to get one of these. I am going to point out that $219 is still pretty spendy for one when has 2 different options for them at $160 for the Gypsy & one of the silicone cases, or for $190 for the Gypsy and a 3rd cartridge. Just saying…

  18. Kimberly M. says:

My hubby got me a Gypsy for Christmas last year. I just LOVE it! I use it a lot to design my layouts way before I’m ready to cut them. I also have found that I am using my Expression a whole lot more now. The Gypsy is so portable and a lot less bulky than carrying around the laptop, which has Design Studio on it.

  19. Kathryn Roberts says:

Yes I got a Gypsy for this Christmas (but I talked my husband in to letting me play a little early) I have brought it to a crop and totally love it – still learing lots and want to take a class – but it was a great accompanyment purchase to my Cricut.

  20. Debbie Zwahr says:

I Love mine! I’ve had it for quite some time. We call it the Scrapbooker’s DS(instead of the Nintendo DS). I create stuff on it, save it & then cut it out later. You can take it anywhere you go so you can create. I am always learning when I use it.

  21. Leslie says:

I got a Gypsy for Christmas 2009. At first I didn’t really like it and didn’t think I would use it much but as there have been more updates and new cartridges I use it all the time. Rarely now do i put a cartridge and layover on my cricut i usually create on the gypsy and then hook it up and let it go to work. I love that i can take it with me where ever i go and have all my cartridges right there with me. I don’t know how i ever scrapbooked/papercrated without it.

  22. Tana says:

I have a gypsy and I love it.. I got mine for christmas 2010. and I have made some stuff with it.. Still try to learn how to use it..

  23. Tania says:

Ok Ladies!! If you havn’t heard yet… Register your Gypsy by Feb 28th 2011 and get 5 Free downloadable cartridges. Here they are and one goes for around $80 on ebay and no longer in stores for purchase. •Blackletter

Another thing… I purchased my gypsy off of Ebay for $91 with free shipping!!! Hope you all can get a good price and this helps some of you who don’t want to pay this price.
For those who need help on starting the gypsy and what all the cords are for you can go to and find many videos on how to use each cord. That is what I did and It helped alot!!! Let me know if this helped!!!

  24. Norma says:

I bought my Gypsy when it first came out and love it! There is a CD out there to learn how to use it and all the options this little wonder can do for you.

  25. karen says:

I haven’t had my gypsy very long, but i love it!!! The only complaint i have is it comes
without an instruction book, i had to go online to learn about it.

  26. Chansey says:

I love the Gypsy. I got mine on sale at Michaels for $50.00. It is a good way to scrapbook if you are one of those people who look for scrapbooking clubs. I do this often and instead of having 2 carry around my cricut & my cartridges I can share someone elses cricut or mine & can hook the gypsy up and be in business. The only thing I do not like about the gypsy is that I am constantly having to update it and it is also prone to getting viruses. It is still new so they are still working out alot of the kinks. I had 2 reformat my entire gypsy but all in all I would say it is a great thing to buy.

  27. Julie Steed says:

I’ve had my Gypsy since the launch and unlike others, I stuck in there with PC till the bugs got worked out. They made it do what they said and continue to update to fix and/or improve features. I love mine. Take it with me on flights, plan my Christmas cards then cut when I get home. Many of you mention issues that I know are addressed in the handbook available when you start up at I ran the latest version and had it bound at OfficeMax for a handy written form. I also have the Gypsy A to Z and that too for hands on learners is great. I teach classes but am afraid the commute would be too much for some of you or for me! Sorry! But check your lss and ask. The demand was there so my girlfriend asked if I’d come teach the basics at her store. Can’t hurt to ask around. You might be surprised! Everyone enjoy!

  28. Trudy says:

My husband special order the Gypsy for me at Joanne’s ect for a Christmas gift and of course they know nothing about what they’re selling so when problems started they could not help me at all and probably made it worse! So, anyway I’ve been on the phone to C.S. so many times, at a 45 minute plues waiting time, to find out I need to do this and them that and all in all they may replace the Gypsy! I’ve been in customer service a long time and I do have a problem with that! Although the C.S. people have been great and as helpfull as they can be, I have a problem with taking all my time to figure out a problem they should have an answer to or just replace or refund my money!!!!!! So what is going on? I even found that I could buy a DVD on the Gypsy (the company does not put one out) but I did buy one and C.S. told me about it. What I’m finding out is the Gypsy I have just is not working the way it’s suppose to, I really hope this can be worked out because I sure would like to enjoy the use of the Gypsy as it is advertised!!!!

  29. Pam Young says:

Michele’s had them for $49 last year, but still not sure if i want one or not, maybe this year will be the year i get one. i have 41 carts right know and they are getting hard to tote around. i thought that all carts had Layers, but the lite, or solutions carts?

  30. cindy says:

I love my gypsy! There are so many things you can do. I would be lost with out it. If you watch the sites you will be able to get it cheaper then 120. I got mine for 89 with free shipping. Have fun!

  31. Dana Johnson says:

I just got the Cricut Gypsy last week and so far I love it!! I am still learning how to use it. I do love that you can load all your cartridges on it.

  32. Sabina says:

  34. Leslie Fournier says:

I had preordered my Gypsy before it was released and had a hard time waiting for it. When it can I could not wait to get started. The best thing about it for me is being able to load all of my cartridges into it. Now, when I travel I do not have to carry all of the cartridges with me – the Gypsy does it all. Great item!!!!

  35. Debbie says:

Have a Gypsy need help finding all the things it can do
your link for great video instructions is unavailable ):
any one know of another one

  36. Jodie Lynch says:

If you have a Hobby Lobby near you, they are on sale for $99.99.

  37. Cheryl says:

I personally do not have a gypsy. It is an awesome tool, but I am not the gadget freak! LOL My sister however, has every new thing that comes down the pike! LOL It has though, worked well for us. We now buy cartridges and “share” them. I keep the cartridges and overlays, and she loads them in her gypsy, and then I copy the book for myself in an 8 1/2 x 11 format, and she takes the books that come with the cartridges. So we split the cost of the cartridges and both have them! It is nice, our collection went from about 20 to 45 in about a year, because we could share the costs! So it is a cool deal if you have a buddy or family member that you can share with!

  38. Cyndi says:

I have had a Gypsy for over a year and I cannot stand the thing. Here’s why – Provocraft’s support for it stinks, it does not come with instructions, you get those from the videos posted online. Even trying to figure out what website to sync from (because it has changed, unannounced and unbeknownst to me) is a major pain in the neck. I am unnerved by the time it takes to sync the thing, and by the constant updates requiring constant syncing – get it right the first time, or issue updates on a scheduled basis, why don’t you, PC? I own a Mac and apparently the Gypsy really doesn’t like that. I recently spent the better part of a day trying to sync and update the Gypsy, only to have to make four phone calls to PC and end up having to completely reset my Gypsy, wiping out all of my carts and causing me to have to re-connect them. One of them would not connect, I do not even want to tell you how I got it to do that, after finding a thread within a thread on a blog somewhere that gave me a trick to use. Of course, this was nowhere to be found on the Gypsy website. Lastly, I had to buy stronger magnifying glasses just to see the screen. It’s a piece of junk for me, maybe I am spoiled by Sure Cuts A Lot, but I will be interested to see how The Craft Room may address my issues with the Gypsy.

  39. Debbie says:

Are you kidding??????????? The Gypsy has been out about 2 years and I couldn’t live without mine. It’s the best ever. You can use any of the cartridges on there, but can only cut from the cartridges you own. No more changing cartridges, no more guessing if it’s going to be the right size. If you own a Cricut machine, you really should have a Gypsy.

  40. Laura Wood says:

I got one in December 2010 and totally LOVE it. I too had a very frustrating time getting it registered and it running properly at first. I delt with one rude rep at customer service, but finally after a second long on-hold wait, got a really nice and knowledgable rep who got me on my way. I did not like how they only provided in the Gypsy package a very condensed version of the instructions and I had to print the 40(+) instruction book up myself. THAT needs to change. But, once I received help getting it registered and updated, and printed the instructions I have never looked back…until I bought one for my sister-in-law and had the same issues getting it started. Finally, both mine and hers work and we both love them.
I only use the Gypsy to cut now vs the cartridges at the machine. I also LOVE being able to place items on the matt exactly where I want them, adjust the size by tiny increments, add a slant, change width or height etc. The Gypsy really increases the uses of your Cricut and each cartridge by 10000x! I highly recommend it. I also recommend ordering off Ebay. You can get it much cheaper than in the store, and you do not have to pay tax. Shipping is also free in a lot of cases.
I highly reccomend getting one…it is well worth the initial frustrations that come with it. (Maybe Provocraft has the kinks in getting started worked out by now).

  41. Linda Steele says:

I have several cricuts and the gyspy. Still trying to learn how to download my projects from the design studio to the gyspy to cut out hooking up the jukebox to cut my designs. Please help if you know how. I’m a little slow learning electric devices.
